Pulse Radio II – Homage to Nicolas Collins (Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1) by Samson Young began with a wireless heart rate sensor transmit his own pulses and turned into “play-head triggers” of a recording of French composer Claude Debussy’s Arabesque No.1. The deconstructed piano classic and heart rate in real time are then overlaid and re-arranged into a sound composition. 

Confidential Record: Dual Metropolitans by Vvzela Kook is based on a makeup story – in revealing of a big secret that Kowloon Walled City was never gone, it is just hidden under the ground. The city governed by artificial intelligence, and the underground Kowloon Walled City became the last defense of all human being ------ huge data flows between these two gigantic memory systems, how the future world would become? Integrating with sound, visual and new media, artist will take audiences through an exceptional cyber city journey.

Samson Young
Born in 1979, in Hong Kong, Samson Young studied music, philosophy and gender studies at the University of Sydney and holds a Ph.D. in Music Composition from Princeton. He was the inaugural winner of the BMW Art Journey Award. In 2013, Young was named “Artist of the Year' (Media Art) by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Young participated in the Asia Triennial Manchester, the Moscow Biennale of Young Art, and also at group exhibitions at Kunsthalle Winterthur, Switzerland, Today Art Museum, Beijing and Taipei Contemporary Art Museum, Taiwan.

Vvzela Kook
New media artist, mainly working on audio-visual performance / work, media theather. Paricipated in Hong Kong Arts festival, Frischelle Festival, Sound Art China Exhibition and “89+” program curated by Hans Ulrich Orbist and Simon Castets. Recent works are mostly based on city and history research.
